I used to work overnights for a year, then switched to mornings back in April. We had a coworker who broke his leg a year ago and is still out. We became understaffed in April and my boss asked me to come back to overnights to help give them numbers. I have, but neither have expected that the coworker would be gone this long with his situation. He's in his early 60's broke his leg walking his dog, suffered a blood clot in the summer, still is out to this day. I asked my boss about my status via email so I got it for my records, he says me going back to morning is all contingent on when said coworker comes back. Am I wrong to eventually voice my displeasure about how this is happening, if I do it in a professional manner? I mean someone being gone for a year now from a injury is nuts, and the response he always gives to us is "i hope to come back soon".
