It’s 2021 now and I’ve started the year with lots of anxiety 🙃 ya see I am pursuing my dream of becoming a surgeon as a non traditional premedical student and I applied for so many jobs and landed one at a prominent hospital in my area. It’s entry level patient care tech but I’m so pumped about it.
I have worked for a bank for the past 2.5 years as a loan officer and it’s a huge cut in pay but it’s a step in the right direction for me.
So here’s the catch, although I’ve had background checks before and of course I have no criminal record or anything that would otherwise prohibit me from sealing the deal for this job except when I was listing my work experience, I really couldn’t remember the dates perfectly for the part time jobs I held in college. I didn’t have copies of W2s or anything like that and those jobs were not relevant to the new job so I just put estimates in. I didn’t think it would be any sort of problem because they were just part time food service jobs from 5-6+ years ago.
Then I got an email from the background check company asking for a the address and phone number of one of the oldest jobs I listed.
Now I’m panicking because they already gave me the offer and my start date and just said I needed to clear a drug test and background check before I start.
Will they rescind the offer? Or if it comes up and I tell them I was just unsure of the dates will that be sufficient for them to just move past it?
