I lost my job in Nov ‘19 after months of fighting to keep it even though I was still recovering from an on the job transit operator injury that happened in July ‘18 and had corrective shoulder surgery in March ‘19. After I started to apply is when lockdown happened. I had two interviews at the very beginning but neither worked out due to field inexperience. Had one more interview in November. Didn’t work out. Tested positive for COVID from over the holiday even though Ive taken it seriously from the beginning. Then had one more interview for a transit administration position in the same city I’m staying in with my girlfriend. The same day as I noticed I could start to smell and taste more than I had before, I was offered the job this morning. I’m nervous and anxious but this will be a step in the right direction and Im excited and can’t wait to see where it takes me. Never give up. Something will come eventually!
