Do retail managers dislike hiring "overqualified" teenagers?

I'm 15 and have been looking for a part-time job since November. Although I've never had a paid job, I've completed 300+ volunteer hours, have a 4.0 GPA, and have won multiple div 1 provincial championships in my sport as a co-captain. My resume is objectively better than most kids my age who have jobs. Yet, I've only been called for an interview once and they told me I was basically hired until they found out my age (job posting failed to mention the 16-year age minimum).

Should I dumb down my resume a bit? I'm not sure if what I have right now comes off as bragging. Other than that one time, I've never been contacted for an interview, let alone given a job offer. I don't believe I'm overqualified, but I would just like a chance to prove that I am down-to-earth in person.
