Today I was informed by the office manager that the law firm would cease to pay $200 in Hazard Pay for coming into the office instead of working from home. I was hired at $14 an hour in CA in the fall of 2019. The hazard pay essentially brought me up to about $18 an hour for about 75 to 83 hours worked every two weeks.
Over this time, I was given more responsibilities than I was initially hire for. And on top of that, my base pay has now become the minimum wage in the state. I feel insulted and taken advantage of, that they would essentially reduce my pay on top of the fact that Covid-19 is currently worse than it's ever been in CA.
