I'm graduating from my MPH biostatistics degree in April and I'm getting more nervous i literally can't afford to be unemployed after I graduate. I'm funded by my scholarship and the funds will stop as soon as I graduate. I don't have enough experience the only work experience I have is an internship as a contact tracer during the pandemic and I analyzed their data using GIS. But I'm looking for clinical trials or biomedical research settings that use SAS or R. Also, I'm trying to work on projects and adding them in github to help boost my chances. For now I feel like my experience won't help me get a job as biostatician so I'm going to apply for research assistant positions.
Anyway, I started applying for jobs in October 2020, is that too early? Can some employers reject me for applying early and not being able to start immediately? When is the best time to apply because I have applied for few jobs now. Any advice is appreciated.
