Why do I always make final round of interviews but don't get the offer? and, am usually ghosted? Is something wrong with me?
I am looking for a Finance Manger/level job at a Bay Area technology firm. I currently am a Finance exec at a megatech firm and have very applicable job experience, so believe I am well-qualified. I am trying to leave as I'm tired of big tech and want to be somewhere small/more nimble where I can build. In all these I'd take a significant pay cut but I'm OK with that. My experience is big tech/Stanford/Goldman Sachs/CPA/CFA.
Over the 18 months I've made final round interviews 22 times, all of which come after 3-6 rounds of interviews. And I've gotten zero offers. In half the situations I've been totally ghosted, and this is by companies that you have heard of and get great Glassdoor reviews. The other half do give feedback but I've never heard anything substantial - I'm usually told by recruiting either its fit or I'm too impressive.
Based on this performance, is something wrong with me? - this is what life seems to be saying. Should I give up and just stay in big tech?
