Hi, I am currently a high school student, though right now I am really thinking about what I would like to work on in the future. I am interested in STEM, though there is a wide range of options. I am fairly passionate about everything in the field and would be willing to work in anything from anesthesiology to investment banking. I have good grades and etc. so I will probably get into at least a couple of ivy/top 10 schools, but I need to figure out what I want to study once I get there. As I said, I have a wide range of interests so I am open to all suggestions. From a job, I really would want to do something with growth potential, like rising in positions over the years, but also something that pays very well. I know money shouldn't be a big thing, but for me, I don't really mind too much what I do because I am interested in many things. I would definitely like to be making +500,000k a year after 20-30 years in the industry - I have some expensive tastes 🤣. Anyways I would appreciate any stem field job suggestions, and will definitely look into each one more.
My current plan is to work in some sort of biotech job, (a lot of money in engineering and health care). First to attend a college with strong programs in the area (made MIT for engineering, or Harvard for health); then to join a start-up and work there for a couple of years. Hopefully, we'll get picked up by a large pharma company and my (ownership) stocks in the company will fly. Then I'll settle down working for a larger company (with greater financial safety) and lastly retire depending on how much money I have (maybe 35-50)and depending on my luck. With the extra time after retiring I would really like to pay it back through volunteering, etc - just something to make a difference in the world. Sorry if this is unorganized, again I'm still only 17, so my plan may have many holes, but I really am open to any suggestions or ideas. Thanks!
