Little backstory: October 2020, I left my $11/HR part time job for a $10/HR + Commission full time job.
I was told that I would be in between stores equally, and then told that I would be 4 days a week at one store and 1 day a week at another store with a set schedule. As time went on, that schedule is no longer the case.
My hours have been fluctuating between 40 and 60 for my two weeks paycheck.
Recently, I found out the reason why I’m not getting hours is because the other associate is selling more than me (if you look at hourly, I’m making more). I’m also left out of important conversations. I’m having to give reports if there’s no sales in quickbooks for the rest of the day, and feel like I’m constantly being watched over. I’m told I need to be aggressive in sales, even though the way I sale works for me. I’m not too pushy. I got laughed at when I said that I think $31/HR is good.
Today, the other owner raised her voice at me when I said the other associate won’t take out the trash and was told “I don’t think she would do that.” When I was straight from the horses mouth that the specific associate won’t take the trash out.
Back at the end of October, I had a customer tell me that their manager wants to talk to me about a job. I didn’t take it because I didn’t want to job hop again.
Now, I’m completely mentally checked out and have this opportunity.
What would you do? This job that I would be offered is guaranteed hours. Salary + commission.
Another note: my current job has had a high turnover. It’s a small mom and pop business with two locations.
