Background: This would be my 7th year with the current organization. I landed a junior role in 2014 and moved up the ladder to land a senior position where I'm practically 'considered' management. (It's not in written anywhere that I am one of them.)
Due to my proximity with the boss there are times when I have to do the dirty work. I wouldn't deny that this has been a great learning curve, I am no longer the shy, unconfident girl that I once was. In 2021 I'll be given my own branch and I'm excited for the opportunity. (The opportunities and learnings is why I don't want to leave the organization.)
The dirty work that creates a negative impact is slowly eroding my mental wellbeing. It's also creating tiff between me and other employees. I'd like to set boundaries with my boss in a way that it doesn't hurt his 'ego'. Any advice on how I should start setting boundaries so my sole focus is my primary job role?
