Pushing back an interview date to give myself more time to prepare?

I received an interview date and I asked to have it pushed back. Solely for the purpose of giving myself more time to prepare. Is this okay? It will be my first serious long term job and I want to get hired.

(I wasn't able to fully prepare over the weekend because I was dealing with sobriety...)
