I had a second interview today over Zoom for an administrative assistant job I was really interested in. I don't have a lot of experience, but the first interviewer thought that my other work experience in another field would work well for this position and so she had me interview with the other person on their team. But I'm not sure what happened. Right in the beginning, she said "Oh I have this long template I have to use, sorry" and made it seem like it would be a lot of questions, but then less than 20 minutes in she was already asking if I had any questions for her- I'm not sure if she cut our conversation short or if she just thought it would take longer than it did. But it took me by surprise- I just asked what she liked best about the company and then what success would look like in the role. We had a pretty informal discussion and were laughing and joking a bit. We talked a few minutes more and then she said "Ok well I'll let you go on with your morning. Get in touch with me if you have any questions. We will be in touch (pause..) if we decide to move forward." And then that was it, just around 30 minutes total. I was confident throughout the interview until it got to the end. I did send a follow-up email about an hour later anyway.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like something I said in an answer may have made her cut our interview short. I don't know what it could've been though. I really wanted this job, so I'll be bummed if it doesn't happen, but I just need to try to not go back and think about what I could've done differently- because I don't think there is anything really that I could've said/done differently.
