Looking for Advice: Leaving a job for another job. Ex-Tech Sales Intern Currently working as an Insurance Agent

I'm a recent college grad currently working a job in my hometown. This job wasn't my original plan coming out of college. In fact, I was all set to go work for a company in the Bay Area of California, until COVID hit and the company began to rescind job offers and freeze hiring. I tried to stay on top of things and not wait for the economy to pick back up before getting a job. I leveraged many resources to find a job as soon as possible and ended up at my current role working for two friends of my father's. I have been working here since September and it has been fine, but lately I have been thinking more and more about the possibility of me finding a job more similar to my original plan if I had just been a little more patient in waiting for industries to get back on their feet. At the same time, some of the companies I had reached out to previously, are now contacting me to ask if I am still interested in interviewing.

My dilemma is this: I find value in starting my career at a sales role, regardless of industry. However, my current company is small and local, while the companies I was hoping to work for are large and, for the most part, international (which I think is great). My hometown is boring, and the Bay Area is full of people, including my friends. So, while I am working this job that can eventually become lucrative if I keep at it for 4+ years, I can't help but see the opportunities out there.

To sum it all up into a question: how long would you recommend you stay with company before legitimately evaluating and pursuing other jobs?
