When I was in my teens I stole a lot for the hell of it with my friends and got caught at 17, and a month later when I turned 18. Both charges were misdemeanors for petty theft. I was never formally arrested, but I was fingerprinted and basically "arrested". I did the community service etc and wasn't convicted on either charge and both were expunged. (one of them I was a minor, so I'm not sure how that was expunged but like, it was closed or whatever) I've come a long way and I don't steal crap anymore but now its scaring me career wise. I have a degree in Social work and I just graduated and recently had 2 job interviews for amazing dream jobs of mine, one wants to move to the next step which is the background check and fingerprinting. I didn't yet disclose my past, and I'm not sure how much of my record will be exposed if at all since its expunged, or will it show because this is a legit government agency where I'll be working with children. They had me sign a moral character form saying I didn't commit certain offenses (all of those being felonies/or sex related charges) but it asked nothing about a misdemeanor or expunged case. So my question is : for the level 2 background and fingerprint check will it show my "arrests"?how much if any do I need to disclose?
Please don't judge, I'm ashamed of my past and I've done a lot of self work since these charges 6 years ago. I was a stupid teenager, with no guidance and terrible friends.
