I technically exaggerated a couple of things on a recent internal job application. If my current employing department discovered the hard truth, would it be grounds for my termination?

Throwaway time. Writing this out to see if my worrying is justified or not.

I recently submitted a job application in a different department of my workplace (I work for a large county in the US). However, I slightly exaggerated two things: the number of work years experience I had (I've been with my employer roughly two years and a few months, but listed "3" by adding in some internship experience) and Excel skill level (I judge myself to be between "intermediate" and "basic", but decided to put "intermediate").

Normally I wouldn't worry about this sort of thing. If they don't want to hire me, I'll either get an email a few weeks later saying they didn't pick me or they'll go dark. However, there was a paragraph you had to click an "accept" button before submitting the application. This is the part that worries me:

By clicking on the 'Accept' button, I hereby certify that every statement I have made in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge and understand that any misstatement, misrepresentation, or omission of information may result in my application being rejected, or, if already employed, may result in my employment being terminated.

I have a fear/worry (don't know if I should or not) that the hiring department will look into asking about me from my boss and his boss, believe that I'm not telling the truth on the application (like thinking the work experience should only count post-graduation work - the question only asked for "related work experience" so it was a bit vague), and tell my boss and his boss what they think. And that the boss, in turn, will "call me into the office" to talk about the application. Would I be right worry or not?

Don't know if this is a dumb post or not. Just need to get it out somewhere and ask for input. I know a lot of people stretch the truth on job applications, but usually it's hard to check it out unless you know someone the applicant works with.
