Giving an hourly rate? Data entry.

The email seems legit. They are doing a mass hire and ask me to review the job description and give my hourly rate expectation.

I have done the money dance before, but I assume there’s not as much negotiation room in a low wage job. Is it ok to write something like “it looks like the hourly rate in city A is xyz?” Because the hourly rate at company headquarters would pay more than in my neck of the woods (it’s remote).

I know I can look up average rates online. Not sure what else I can do to get more money. I do have experience. But also don’t want to price myself out of consideration as this is very much the type of position I want.
