I’m 18 working nights at a supermarket on my gap year, the last couple days I have been ill and vomiting. Today I called in sick for the 2nd day in a row, and the guy was so rude to me. I don’t know who he was. I’m just a bit confused as I’ve never worked before - is this normal? Is being sick 2 days in a row not like a common thing? He told me I should be with a doctor if I’m that sick or just come in. Like we are in tier 4 I can’t just go to the doctor for what’s probably a stomach bug? When I last worked I literally had to run to the bathroom to vomit yet still just carried on my work to end my shift, and thought I shouldn’t do that again.
I have quite bad social anxiety and this made me really nervous to go back to work. Will everyone be rude to me and not like me since I took a couple days off?? It’s making me very anxious and overthinking things that I should leave if they all hate me.
Kind of just a rant / expressing my feelings but if anyone has any advice please let me know. :(
