I could use some advice. First off a little about my work experience. I had a cashier job while in college for 2 years, Peace Corps science teacher for 3 years and banking experience for 2 years.
I am currently in an MBA program and had an internship with the company I just received my job offer from. My internship was basically the same role as the job I applied to but with less responsibility. I was paid $36 an hour. I don't receive my official MBA until May
I interviewed for this position in a different branch located in California. Yesterday I was offered $65,000 a year, but when asked my salary expectations during the interview I stated $75,000 to $85,000 a year.
I felt the offer was a little low especially with the cost of living in the area and the fact that I was paid by the same company more money as an intern to do the same thing but with a smaller load. I was asked to respond by Monday. I would like to negotiate and would appreciate any advice. Especially with articulating my concerns and questions. Any strategies are welcome. Thanks in advance.
