Should I tell my coworker he's about to be fired?

I work with a guy who's about to be let go due to incompetence. For obvious reasons, my boss doesn't want to tell him until the day of; he's waiting for him to finish up some work before cutting him off. Question is, should I give him a heads up out of kindness?

I agree that he should be fired, but he's also not a bad person and I don't particularly dislike him; also, he has a wife and daughter.

I've been on the receiving end of this before, so I know what it's like to be suddenly let go without any time to prep for job-searching.

Is this worth considering, or would it just do more harm than good as far as my relationship with my boss/other coworkers?
