I applied for a job in May and never heard back after interview. Today I got a msg from HR asking to interview again since the same position opened up again. Thoughts? Could this be positive sign?

So I interviewed back in May. It went good, I could have answered better. I never heard back after and honestly forgot I ever applied.

Today I got an email from HR asking if I’m interested in being considered. I agreed and they set up an interview.

Do you think this means I’m one of the top choices? Or maybe they are just trying to meet metrics/ interviews since I never got any feed back after an interview?

Did anything similar happen to anybody else?
