Hi I am a new grad currently in the process of looking for a job. I actually went to a hiring event and got a job and was offer a position I wanted. I was told I would get an email with the offer letter next day. I had another interview but I decided to go ahead with them because that interview was not guaranteed. Well I did not get my offer letter the next day, instead I got a call from the recruiter late yesterday evening telling me that the position was not available and then they tried to offer me other positions that they needed fill. I found this strange and was not interested in the other positions they had to offer. The recruiter asked if I had other interviews line up and I said yes within the same hospital organization but a different campus.
After I mention that they switch back and offered me the same position I interviewed for at the hiring event. This was all done in the same phone conversation. I feel like I was lied to and the conversation to me was sketchy. Should I decline this position and interview for the one I have set up next week. I'm kinda scared I won't get the job and then I will be stuck looking again. I also feel it looks bad because I accept the job during the hiring event but after that phone call it made me question it. I do not want to play games. The hospital I plan to interview for next week has a better facility , one of the best hospitals in my city and I'm more familiar with this hospital too. How do I handle this professionally. I kinda want to forget the offer and interview for the other position but I do not want to burn any bridges because it is within the same organization. ps the organization has multiple hospitals in my area and is respectable.
