I got a conditional offer at this Company and accepted it. During the interview process I lied about one of my experiences(basically added an extra company similar to my actual experience). Now they have sent background checks and asked about verification on the experience I lied about. Since I cannot verify, and coming clean would most likely get me blacklisted by the company, I was thinking of withdrawing even tho I have responded to the offer letter by accepting. The excuse would be family issue which I do not know when will resolved. So my question is what is the best way to do it? I do not want to burn bridges, as I want to apply to similar positions in the near future at that company, and not make the same mistake in the interviews this time. I know what I did was not smart, but do you guys have any advice?
