I was laid off in November 2019 due to corporate restructuring.
November - Applied, got a couple of screening interviews didnt go anyhwere.
December-Mid Jan - Writeoff due to the holidays
Mid Jan 2020 - March 2020 - Started applying again got a few calls and almost got this role that I was being considered for over 5 weeks. March 2020, we were at the height of the coronavirus, so they cancelled that job. I was pissed.
So between March till now, Ive done about 350 applications, and have had only 1 interview, which I should find out about this week.
Ive completed 2 certifications and doing community work right now.
By November it will be a 1 year professional gap on my resume. I fear I wont even get through the first stage of recruiting, let alone be grilled on it in an interview.
Anyone with gaps here, how were your gaps recieved in interviews?
