Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I recently received a job offer from a fortune 100 company in my field after graduating this past May.
I’m in middle of the background check portion. No criminal record at all, my internship (only relatable experience) checks out, but my current job (not in the field I’m getting in) is what getting me. I currently work as a contractor for a company on their payroll, but before that they just had me keep track of my hours for 5 months and after I became a contractor for a different company to work there they had me fill out a vendor form (will receive a 1099 at the end of the year) and paid me as a independent contractor (self employed) which I put on my past work
They are now requesting documents to prove that. And I told them the whole story but haven’t heard back yet. The only thing I have is the 2 ACH payments they sent me AFTER becoming a contractor and a reference they can call to verify it. No paperwork was filled out that entire time, just after I became a contractor for the money owed to me. So everything is dated 4-5 months later.
Should I worry?
