Apologies if I choose the wrong flair and/or this seems convoluted.
I work in healthcare, located in California. My previous employer owned a private practice that was affiliated with a hospital. Few months ago, my employer informed me that she was letting me go, explaining that it looked like I wasn't cut out for the specialty (which I agree). Because of COVID, she was nice and offered to keep me working for another month while I job hunt (she wanted to ensure I stay employed throughout the pandemic).
Eventually, I chose my last day of work and gave notice to both the practice and the hospital.
I left on really good terms with my whole team - one of my supervisors offered to be my reference and even my boss put in a good word for me that helped me land my next job!
I'm so excited for my new job, it seemed like a place where I can thrive. This job is not private practice - it's more of a corporation. So my background check is my thorough (it's completely clean) and hospital credentialing takes months.
While credentialing for surgical facilities, they ask for previous hospital affiliations, dates, etc, which I answer truthfully. It also asked for membership status, which options include Termination/Resign.
Since I gave my end of work date to the hospital, can I say that I resigned or will I get into trouble? Does anyone know what hospital HR ask when verifying previous affiliations?
I don't wanna screw up this amazing opportunity, my stomach is turning just by the thought of it. Thank you in advance!
