Ok so I’ve been working as a production worker at a nonprofit company for a month now. I naturally drink a lot of water and therefore go to the bathroom a lot. It’s not something that I can control. I just listen to my body. Today one of my supervisors addressed this to me and told me that I go to the bathroom an excessive amount of times and that I need to save it for my break time. I briefly responded that I drink a lot of water and then I just have to go. She still said that it was excessive. I have never been told this at my other jobs, so I was kind of shocked and annoyed that she would ask me to reduce my bathroom breaks as it is something I can not control. She is the type of supervisor that will go to my manager and say that I’m taking random breaks in the bathroom. So my question is, should I just go to my manager and explain that it is something out of my control or speak directly to my supervisor. I can’t just ignore it, because she will eventually go to my manager and complain about me. Who you should I speak to first?
