Just got a shockingly low offer. I am certain they can’t increase the offer by much but I wanted to ask so it doesn’t sound bad. How to go about it?

Long story short I applied somewhere not really where I want to work but thought I’d do it anyway to see what the offering would be. It’s about 30% lower than what I make now. I absolutely do not want the job and knowing the institution I know they can’t give me a 60% increase on the offer to be competitive. But I don’t just want to say “It’s not enough” and thought I should at least make an effort to negotiate. Thoughts/tips? My current job just got a whole lot more attractive after that 🤭
