Is it okay to send in your resume in an email on a weekend?

I know it's a trivial question, but the applications close on Wednesday and my boss is taking forever to write my letter of recommendation (it's a position within my company), while I'm ready with my cv and cover letter. I don't want to wait until Monday to send it in (assuming I get in on Saturday), but not sure whether that matters or not
