So this year has been tough for me job wise. I’ve had four jobs including the one I’m at now (I am a barista). Basically job A I left because they underpaid, job B I left because of sexual harassment and I am now going to court over it. Both A and B I was at for two months each. Then I found job C, I was there for about two weeks before they let me go because they are selling the business and couldn’t provide me hours, but they said they would get back to me if anything changes in the future. I’m now on my third week at Job D. Job C contacted me and said they successfully sold the business, and now the new owner needs a barista, and has trusted the old owner to find a new staff member. The old owner contacted and offered me the position I originally had. This was an amazing job, I was getting almost double my minimal wage and the customers, employees and entire cafe is amazing. Right now at Job D I am pretty miserable, get paid much less than Job C and the staff aren’t as nice, so of course I accepted Job C straight away. But now I’m left with having to resign from a job I just started. I’m mainly nervous and not sure how to approach it as although in my interview for Job D they liked me, the manager expressed concern that I hadn’t held a job down this year for too long so they were kind of hesitant to hire me because of that. I assured the manager I am looking for something long term, and that I’m not going to leave a month in, but now I am doing exactly what I told her I wouldn’t do and that this year has just been rocky for me. I don’t know if I should just email them with a resignation I’m too nervous to do it in person I think. I also don’t know what to say, I was thinking of telling the truth, just saying although this place is nice I don’t feel like I fit in like I did with Job C and tell them that that job overall suits me better. But I’m scared for how awkward it’s going to be, should I even give them a week or two notice? I’m not in a rush to start job C as they wouldn’t need me until a week or two. I would love to just be swallowed into the ground right now! Thanks for advice:)
