How do I deal with a boss that isn’t so clear on direction, has me on multiple things to do on a solo project, and makes me feel like nothing I do is good enough? I feel so worthless...
Hi friends,
So I’m in a bit of a pickle here. I’ve been at this new job for 10 months now and it’s been great up until the last 2 months or so. The workload for my project has doubled or more than that and they refuse to hire a 2nd person for this project so it’s all on me.
I try doing a little bit of everything but every time I have a zoom check in with my boss she basically talks to me in a condescending tone telling me I need to get on everything more and I’m not owning up to my work enough when there’s literally like 100 things going on at a time, there’s only so much I can do in 8 hours everyday.
She told me to ask her if I have any questions or concerns today and all I did was go over the list of what I was doing today then I asked her if there’s anything she thinks I may have missed and she replied by saying that by me asking that question it shows I’m not leading my project like I should. So I’m damned if I don’t ask questions then I’m damned if I do. It’s a great paying job but I don’t know about keeping it if I’m just having to second guess myself all the time.
Have you ever been in this situation? Was it a dealbreaker for you and made you quit?
Thanks
