Is this too good to be true?

I have a job that is offering me a $150k salary but it is a deferred salary. It is a movie studio and the salary wouldn’t kick in until the theaters open up again and they release one of the films they are nearly finished filming. I would get payed nothing in the meantime, but during this time the work would only be part time and I could work my other freelance jobs.

Are they legally obligated to pay me after the deferral period is over? Are there any legal limits on how long a deferment period can last? Lastly, would it be worth it to pursue this contract and hope I get paid eventually (and handsomely at that) or is this a disaster waiting to happen? The work would be relatively easy so I wouldn’t be overly crushed if nothing came from this.
