Hi,
I currently just started working as a Supervisor Trainee for CVS. They recently went 24/7 and in what I believe to be an attempt to persuade me to join, offered me my first shot at a management type position. That’s all fine and dandy, but the kicker is I just recently moved about 40 minutes away with my wife and gravely underestimated the stress an overnight position would put on my day to day life with her and the rest of my family. After a 10 hour shift this morning, instead of going directly to sleep I decided to go check out a store that was having open interviews and low and behold they liked my resume a good deal. I was offered a job as a part time associate with the eventual opportunity to move up to a supervisor position. The pay rate is only minimum wage however, and even worse I’d only be working 15-25 hours a week. But again, I wouldn’t be working those dreaded overnight hours and I’m only 5 minutes away from my new home. If it weren’t for my fear of making rent each month, I’d jump on the offer, but part of me feels like the smart thing to do is wait it out.
What do you think I should do? One option I’ve considered is transferring to another CVS closer to home but I’ve literally only been in for a week so I don’t know how much pull I’d have. Any and all input is appreciated.
