I've been searching for quite some time and had started a new position before the pandemic which sent me packing because I hadn't completed training on their highly proprietary system.
I had over 19 years at my previous position and this was a change/challenge (I'd never done software development before). This new offer would be going back to my roots as a network engineer/support technician.
It doesn't get me back to where I was, but it's a step above where the other company has me.
Would it be wrong to ask for more details about a bonus structure (they have monthly bonuses based on billable hours, but no idea how much potential is there) to determine whether to accept the offer or counter for a higher base salary?
