Hey everyone. I managed to secure a new, fast paced job in communications in the arts, and I’ve been here for a month. It’s been daunting starting work from home and also the fact that this is my first time in such a role, as all my previous jobs/internships have been in editorial.
I know I’ve only been here a little bit but I’ve been struggling to feel confident in anything I do. My supervisor has realised it and pointed it out, and she has assured me she will do her best to support me where I can, which is nice. But a part of me worries I will never get there.
I was wondering for those starting or have started in a new job or field, how long did it take for you to feel comfortable and confident in your work and decisions?
I know I shouldn’t expect to grasp everything off the bat, so I am trying to get some perspective and hopeful advice here. I’m also seeing a psychologist for anxiety in general, which has helped me try to be more secure in myself.
