I am one of the few lucky ones in my country to be offered job. The country is under partial lockdown still.
Company A is a famous Food Delivery Platform. They are taking me on a joy ride. First the recruiter said they'll just offer me $3.3K a month after we were negotiating around $5.28K! Now the recruiter is back offering me the lattar price with stock options.. the company is already public so I can cash in on the stocks. I like the company, culture all young people who seem to be energetic and enjoying their time. The job is a little new for me as I expect a learning curve to be bit steep.the management seems cool as well. There is a lot of work to be done. I am expecting lots of late night work.
Company B is very strong Courier Services company. It is more traditional with an older employee base. They are low balling me for the job as they justify it by saying my "small experience" compared to the other candidates, but they selected me because of the potential and longetivty and entrepreneurial background. But, the hiring manager said this is what the country manager recommended to pay me, which is $5.9K. But! The hiring manager in the initial interview mentioned they pay around $7.4K. I discussed the offer again with the hiring manager and he had execuse that they cut managers salaries by 15% already, gives me room to earn more later, be fair with other employees... I didn't buy it, but I got cornered and I am unemployed right now... I also really like this job potential... I countered him still with something very reasonable which is $6.7K... He said to see the offer and then make the decision later on if I wanted to ask for more because he needs to go back to the committee to decide... I'm planning on talking to the recruiter and see what she says, but I dont want to go around my hiring manager either lol... I prefer this job over the other one because of the company name, title and potential.. but it does have a very dull boring courier company culture...
