What to say to a potential employer when...

TL;DR My question is during the interview if the employer that got back to me immediately wants to higher me on the spot, how do I say I would like to keep my options open without saying exactly that.

Hi, I just graduated university this past week. I applied to multiple temporary jobs (1 year or less for me because I'm taking a gap year) so I can have a bit of spending, saving, and miscellaneous money. One got back to me immediately, another my friend put in a good word for me and said I have to wait until this coming week to hear back. The job that got back to me immediately wants to interview me this coming week as well. My only issue is, I would like to keep my options open for the job my friend introduced me to. It has better pay and I would have the opportunity to work from home. My question is if the situation comes up where the employer wants to hire me once the interview is concluded, how do I say "I want to keep my options open" without saying exactly that. I don’t want to offend or ruin an opportunity, so I'm trying to tread lightly.
