If a company is hiring for both positions, should you apply for the more senior and more junior position? Or just the senior?

Does it show a lack of confidence to apply for the more junior position as well?

In my case, I feel pretty good about my qualifications for the senior position, but there’s still areas where I know I’m a little short on the requirements.

I’ve only applied for the more senior position. If my resume gets through, I’d assume if they think I’m not a fit for the senior position, they’d still consider me for the more junior position.
