So, after 6 years of working as a sheet metal estimator, I want to quit my job.
I’ve been wanting to quit since the beginning of the year and finally get out of New Jersey. I had plans to travel to both San Diego and San Antonio in March to see if they were potential places to move to. But then, coronavirus happened.
Now that the coronavirus pandemic has happened, I now spend mornings at the office and afternoons at home, which would be fine if deadlines to send out bids were more spaced out, suppliers and contractors would actually answer calls/e-mails and if I didn’t have to assume the responsibilities of my immunocompromised parents on top of my job.
Problem is, I have no idea what to do next with my life.
I’m 29, diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, my fine motor skills are poor at best, I lack physical strength, have no social life or network, and am just completely burnt out in general.
I have a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, which as you can tell, has done almost nothing, save for a 9-month stint for a sports news wire service that sold itself and let go nearly the entire staff.
I have no desire to return to college or any form of schooling, as that is where I initially burned out and I don’t need to add more heaps of stress.
Where the hell do I go from here?
