Job offer potentially on the line

I got a job offer for an IT role at a large oil and gas company in November 2019. I’ll be graduating college in May 2020, and the position start date is in early June 2020. However, they still have not sent me an email to complete my background check and pre-employment drug test to officially be hired. I’m pretty worried right now because I’m wondering if they’re holding off on doing the pre-employment stuff because they’re considering not hiring me due to the pandemic and drop in oil prices. Any ideas as to why they might be taking so long to send the pre-employment stuff for me to complete?
