I'm currently in accounting/finance and have been wanting to make a career change into a buyer/planner within the fashion, retail, grocery, or beauty industry.
A friend connected me with someone in sourcing at one of my dream companies. How should I go about approaching them? I was going to set up a phone call to learn more about what they do! I don't want to straight up ask for a referral because it will seem like I'm using them if you know what I mean. However, I would not mind if someone wanted to do finance/accounting, and asked me for a referral. I would be more than happy to help since I've been there before. Not sure how others feel though.
