So Monday I got my annual review raise which was like 3.5 %. Which is okay it's what I expected. Then two hours later my boss calls me in his office and hands me a gift card for a grocery store nearby just for food during the virus outbreak it was 60$ not much but a really nice thought. (I work for an electric co op and we've been coming to work like normal. Some of us have been split up some work from home, and the operations center has been completely quarantined so don't worry about your power). Anyways a day passes and I come into work and there's an envelope sitting on my desk and basically it said during these financially hard times for our families were committed to helping you make it through. Anyway I open up the envelope and it was a bonus... A four thousand dollars bonus. With an additional 5k Pay raise for base salary. I've never in my entire life been given a raise without asking. And since wife's being laid off, this has definitely helped us. I guess some companies are okay to work for.
