How come most of my applications are still stuck in the "in progress" state? Why are so many companies not replying?

I've started applying for jobs in early February. Since then, I've received exactly 3 replies from 3 companies: 2 offers for interviews and 1 direct rejection. All the other companies never replied to me. No rejections or anything. From previous job searches, I'm used to companies at least sending me a rejection email but so far most of them didn't. Some of my applications have been stuck in the "in progress" state for 2 months now when I go check online on their websites.

Did they just all decide to ignore me? Does it mean they are still selecting candidates? Is it normal that it takes over 2 months for companies to reply?
