So a couple of months ago I applied to work in a university research institute and it went really well. I got an interview, and after the first interview I got an offer for a second interview. However, before the second interview, I got accepted to my top choice PhD program, so I informed them that I would be accepting that position and that they should move on to another candidate.
However, I had a big realization that doing a PhD wasn't the right move for me right now, so I decided to move back to searching for a job. I was browsing job boards yesterday and I came across the same job in that institute and I was wondering if I could apply again, and explain my change of mind in the cover letter. I'm sure that the recruiter would remember my name, but I'm not sure how much of a chance I would have after I turned them down.
