Need advice for job separation or working 5 hours a week

Hi all,

I was working as a behavior interventionist for a private company. When shelter in place came into affect, I didn't agree with how my company handled it. We are an exemption business, but yet my employer did some things I didn't agree with.

I ended up taking another job making similar pay, but more stability and better benefits at a hospital.

I still really feel for a couple of my clients. One of my clients, the mom was just laid off and has 3 boys. The family and I get along well. The child also lives in the same city as me, so I could on a Thursday and Friday meet with this client.

I only had 3 clients from this company. 1 i never did session with because they cancelled all our sessions without notice before I could do sessions and one I only had two sessions with.

I'm in at-will state, so I could just give my two weeks and leave. They did have me sign a thing stating I'd plan to be with them for a year, but obviously I am not since they couldn't get clients or handle layoffs better. The letter didn't say there would be any penalty for leaving early and legally don't think they can in at-will states.

Out of compassion for my clients, I want to see if they would let me work 5 hours a week. They might say no, but at least legally I made the effort to work with them a bit. They probably won't go for it and I don't know if I should even bother. My job is in high demand. Usually families waiting for 2-3 years to get services. If they heave and ho about leaving I am going to say well you breached my employment contract to keep me with a full caseload.

My other job at the hospital is pretty tiring. Not so much the job, but the long hours. I will be working three 12 hour days from 7 to 7. I could meet with clients at like 2:30 to 5:30 and one 10-12 on one of my off weekday from new job.
