My boss is kind of nuts...and I say that based on their workplace reputation...not just me saying that.
They texted me hours ago (Sunday), and I instantly felt my spirits drop. I was having a decent day and didn’t want to read the text. We work 9-5, M-F, so I have been telling myself I can just read their message tomorrow.
The worst thing I can imagine is that I maybe missed a deadline or something and they need me to finish something g right away, in which case I know the text will be all condescending, abrasive, and likely full of blaming and transcribed yelling and other abrasive language.
I don’t want to read it, but I feel like it is probably important, given that they texted me—and me only—when they usually text the whole team for general stuff.
When I open the text, what reasons can I give for getting back to them a few hours later? I mean it is a Sunday...and I could be camping in the wilderness or simply have my phone off or in my cupboard or something. But I doubt they will want to hear that.
What generic responses are generally considered sufficient for explaining why you’re getting back to them a few hours later on the weekend?
