Got a job offer, but there’s one down side is the only good thing about my current job?

So same entry level position at a smaller independent company. Small pay increase with larger one at 6months. We’re in a small industry, like most coworkers have worked with someone else at another competing company. This company doesn’t offer PTO. It lets you accrue 6 days of sick pay max. Then 8 National holidays. Weekends are overtime, but it’s not common.

Current job let’s me me accrue 2weeks max of vacation. Can get max of 15 of sick days. 3 personal days, and then 7 National holidays. Outside some other pretty good benefits, and that my coworkers are nice folks everything else is kinda awful. There was a corporate buy out and the transition has made things tense and just seems to get worse. While I like my coworkers our conversations consist of mostly venting about how incompetent management has become. And I feel like it’ll be a while before things stabilize and can improve. The schedule is the worse. You get notice the evening before, and could be going into work anywhere from 5:30am to 10:30am and expect work 8-12hrs.

So I’m actually thinking of taking the job, but how do I ask about taking time off like somewhere after 6weeks of starting. My brothers returning home. I’ve seen him once in 15 years and want a week around the time of his arrival off. Also willing to hear anyone out on reasons not to take a job with no PTO bu is better than my current job in so many other ways. And if they really do come through on the training I won’t feel as stuck. My current company started but never finished and now give me the crappiest projects all under that I’m not trained well enough.
