I've been at my current company for almost 2 years (first company after graduate school). I worked at my first department for 18 months, and transferred to my current department around 5 months ago within the same company. I left my first department due to a toxic environment with low salary and unreasonable work demands, high turnover, etc. I heard positive and better things about my current department as there are several other people who came to my current department from my original department; however, unfortunately, I have not felt that same vibe, and this new department is essentially severely understaffed also with very poor management (potentially even worse than my original department). My position is slightly different than my other coworkers' roles, and I am split between 2 opposite locations, which none of my coworkers do, and the department has never had a position like mine before, which makes the learning curve even greater. Since I have several different roles, I have several different supervisors who essentially have no clue what I do during my job. My workload is extremely unreasonable too, and despite me explaining this, I am told my coworkers can assist with my workload when I can't accomplish my taks, which I think is unfair and illogical to them.
I have been given very minimal training at my job related to paperwork and procedures, and when I ask questions to my supervisors for clarifications, they get frustrated, and make rude comments that they thought I already knew what to do, and they expected me to be "more independent", etc. This lack of training has led to several ethical dilemmas occurring that have required mediation between multiple supervisors, and I am really only "trained" after I make mistakes on my paperwork that gets returned to be corrected. My job gave me 2 mentors to help me (besides my supervisors); however, the reality of this is that my mentors are both very busy with their over-worked positions, and could care less about helping me. I essentially have no friends at work, and as the youngest in the department (all of my coworkers are 10-40 years older than me), I do not feel like my older supervisors think highly of me or respect due to me being so much younger than them. They recently re-did the training procedures for the department, and claim they're providing more training than they previously did, but I absolutely disagree with this perspective (I had a meeting with my supervisor to do my 3-month performance review, and was not even informed until after it was over that it was a performance review meeting). I have been job searching, but have been unsuccessful in finding a comparable position yet. This is also due to my location being very saturated for my career. However, I am getting very frustrated with the consistent lack of training, support, etc, despite advocating for myself, and am contemplating taking a risk of leaving my job soon, even if I have no back-up job. I am an at-will employee, but the handbook suggests giving a minimum of 4 weeks notice. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this situation?
