So i'm starting at a new job soon, a job that i acquired through that horrible phrase no one likes to hear, 'I knew someone'. I'm a fresh media production graduate specialising in video work and my friend working at a media production company has helped me secure this role. Without bragging I like to think that I'm a pretty decent behind a camera; able to get visually pleasing footage quickly and efficiently- something I did a lot of throughout my studies. However my new role will not just be that, but also the editing and overall design of their content. I've some experience in editing and design, but would not dare to call myself proficient- especially if working under a time pressure.
I refuse to turn down this opportunity because I could learn so much and it's in an area I really want to advance into. However, I'm freaking out a little bit!!! Do you think I should be honest about my lack of experience, or just ya know, fake it til ya make it?
Any advice appreciated!
(Also I know i'm very lucky to have this opportunity, hence why i don't want to waste it!)
