24, Haven't been employed since I was 17 - 18

I'm starting to look for work after being lazy, depressed, anxiety and refusal to grow up. My biggest anxiety is job interviewing but I'm sure ill overcome it.

Right now I'm trying to write a cover letter but I can't think of what I can actually put on it. The resume was the easy one, straight to the point of experience and objectives.

But the cover letter requires you to be a little bit more personable and i dont think "uhhh, im a uni drop out who hasnt been employed because he was terrified of interviews." Is gonna cut it.

Can you guys give me some pointers or examples so i can start heading in the right direction?
