Open favoritism

What do you do about open favoritism? My boss has a clear favorite at work. He can do no wrong and we all pick up is slack. They eat lunch together most days and she calls him “his name”- baby. I confronted her about it and she said I was reading into things and that is just the way she talks. That I am hurting the positive environment she is creating. But I am not even the only one who is annoyed and has noticed that relationship.

What should I do? I know if I go to HR they will go to her and it will just cause me problems.
